PANCHANGA ( HINDU CALENDER )-
The panchang is he lunar calendar based on Moon's monthly movement .One month is divided into two paksha . Such as Krishna paksha and Shukla paksha .on the average year as 29.52 *12 = 354.36 day which is less by 11 days compared to earth circle days (365) days ? Thus in every three year cover thre is in /adhika maah to cover the gap of these 11 days .Panchanga is used to determine the most ideal time for carrying out various activities like getting ,married stepping into a new home , starting education , laying the foundation of new home and building work for the first undertaken of new home and building work for the first undertaken to reap maximum benefit . its provides a list of festivals .Panchanga means fives organs to understand the phalita . these five things are
1- Vara/ Din
2- Tithi
3- Nakshatra
4- yoga
5 - karna
VARA ( DAY) -
the day start from the sun rise and continue till next sunrise . it is the solar day of the weak . There are 7 days in a weak.
TITHI( DATE) -
There are 15 Tithis commencing from next day of Amavasya . the 1 day of bright half of lunar month to purnima ( full moon) , the 15 Tithi of the bright half. / They are called the tithi of the Shukla paksha . similarly these are are 15 tithi commencing from next day of purnima to Amavasya called Krishna paksha ( Darkar phase) .The 15 Tithi are called pratipada ,Dwitiya Tritiya ,chaturthi, panchami, shasthi, saptami, ashtami navami. dasami, ekadasi , dwadashi, trayodashi , chaturdashi, and purnima or amvasaya .
NAKSHATRA ( Naal)
There are 27 Nakshatra ( group of star) that moon occupies it is also called the constellation.
YOGA-
Yoga is an auspicious moment . there are 27 Yoga in a month they are called -
1- Vishakumbha 2- Preeti 3- Aayushman 4- Saubhagya 5- Shobhana 6- Atiganda 7- sukarma
8- Dhirti 9- Shoola 10- Gand 11- Vriddhi 12- Dhurva 13- Vyaghatta 14- Harshana 15- Vajra 16- Siddhi 17-Vyatipaata 18- Variyaana 19- Parigha 20- Shiva 21- Siddha 22- Saddhya 23 - shubha
24- shukla 25- Brahma 26- indra 27 - Vaidhriti
Karana -
There are one Karana in a one and a half of the Tithi a . there are 11 Karana altogether , which repeats they are 1- Bala 2- Baalava 3- Kaulava 4- Taitil 5- Gara 6- Vanija 7- Vishti 8- Shakuni 9- chatushpada 10- Naaga 11- Kinstughna
